Best golf resorts in Europe in 2016

01 March 2016 has been giving a voice to golfers since 2007 and has gathered hundred of thousands reviews of actual golfers since then. As a prelude to the presentation of our unique Golfers' Choice 2016 Awards we felt it was time to present a list of the best golf resorts in Europe, made up by golfers for golfers. The list is based on our own ratings of all golf facilities in Europe and on the rating of the resort or hotel itself.

Combining the rating for the hotel and golf facility has resulted in an interesting list of golf resorts and has eventually led to our top 60 of best golf resorts in Europe. The ranking is for 50% based on the rating of the golf facility itself and for 50% on the rating of our hotel partner, On our site more than 400.000 hotels, resorts and villa's can be found, located close to a golf course. Golfers really appreciate and use this feature to plan and book their golf holiday. Golfers who care more about their hotel, first select their hotel and then book the golf course(s) nearby. Golfers who only want to play on the best courses, first select a region with great courses and after that the hotel.

In the list of best golf resorts only resorts that are actually located on the premises of the resort itself, have been taken into account. There are quite a lot of resorts that call themselves a 'golf resort', but who aren't located on the golf course itself.

Rockliffe Hall the best golf resort
The best golf resort in Europe is Rockliffe Hall Hotel Golf & Spa with an average score of 9,3. Terre Blanche, Finca Cortesin and Monte Rei are the runners up, all with an average score of 9,2.
